Wisznia Mała gmina is situated between the river Widawa and the Trzebnica Hills, so in the south it borders with Wrocław and Trzebnica in the north. Because of its attractive location near the capital of Lower Silesia and its healthy environment, of which the local authorities take care, the gmina became a home for many Wrocław residents. The development of individual housing in all sixteen villages of the gmina was resulted by the investment policy of the local authorities. All the villages have a water supply system, five of them (Krzyżanowice, Psary, Szymanów, Kryniczno i Rogoż) have gas supply system, Strzeszów has a sewage system, which is to be built in Wisznia Mała and Ligota Piękna. Basing on its waste dump, the borough found the solution to a waste-recycling problem.

The capital of Wisznia Mała gmina is situated at Nr 5 Wrocław-Poznań state road. There is a chemist, a healthcare center, a police station, a post office, 24/7 petrol station and a lake, where you can swim or fish. In Szymanów there is a Wrocław Aeroclub’s airfield, which is used by the gliders and parachutists.
The military testing ground occupies the bigger part of the gmina and many motocross fans come here to test their motorbikes.

The villages Ozorowice (which is situated near a wood), Mienice (which is also situated near a wood on the sides of the Trzebnica Hills), Piotrkowiczki and Wysoki Kościół (from where on a clear sunny day you can see the view of Wrocław, Mount Ślęza or even the Sudety Mountains) are waiting to be discovered.
